Office 2007 and Vista: What You Need to Know
Tuesday, January 8, 2008, 7:30 - 11:00 a.m. - Presented by: William Fleenor, CPA, PhD.
In 2007 we saw the release of radically different versions of the two software packages that are used the most by business professionals; the Windows Operating System (Vista) and the Microsoft Office Applications (Office 2007). This session is designed to provide accountants and other financial professionals “What they need to know” to use these tools effectively. Office 2007 dramatically changes how you will perform everyday functions such as word processing, sending and receiving email messages, working with databases, and creating spreadsheets. New features such as the Ribbon interface, improved graphics capabilities, and XML-based data files offer tremendous opportunities for increased productivity – but only for those who are prepared to take advantage of this opportunity. Vista – Microsoft’s newest operating system – has arrived, so now what? While Vista promises more stability and security and provides better performance compared to previous versions of Windows, there are potential pitfalls that you must be aware of before upgrading or migrating to Vista. In this session, learn about the new features of Vista and how to reap the benefits of using them; best practices for upgrading and migrating to Vista; and specific upgrade considerations, including potential hardware and software conflicts.
